For a truly unique Snowmass dining experience, visit the romantic log cabin restaurant at Krabloonik and watch the sled dog teams as you dine by the fire. The restaurant offers signature mushroom soup, homemade bread, and classic baked brie. Krabloonik hosts daily dogsledding tours during the winter months for all ages - choose from early morning or twilight rides through the snowy mountains with 10 world-class sledding dogs and learn all about the ancient tradition of dogsledding.
For the best breakfast around, visit The Crepe Shack for sweet and savory crepes and delicious coffee. Their award-winning crepes are the perfect treat after a morning on the slopes! Another favorite spot is Base Camp Bar and Grill, located in Base Village. The restaurant spans two floors with fully-stocked bars, a downstairs patio with a firepit, and boasts the best views of Snowmass Mountain. Menu items include build-your-own burgers and veggie burgers and an extensive cocktail list.
Summer Concert Series is the event of the season in Snowmass! For almost 30 years, residents come out to Fanny Hill on Thursday evenings to enjoy some of the country’s best artists and bands. This family-friendly, free concert series offers wine and beer, and food from local favorite restaurants. When Labor Day rolls around, another incredible event is JAS, the Jazz Aspen Snowmass Festival. Bringing in hundreds of local and national jazz musicians, the festival highlights the abundant, diverse sounds of jazz music and offers educational workshops and experiences to Snowmass residents.
Things to Do
The Snowmass Balloon Festival is a can’t-miss September event held over the course of three days. For the last 46 years, the Balloon Festival has brought joy to Snowmass Village and continues to “wow” hundreds of spectators each year with its famous hot-air balloon show. The skies fill with brightly-colored balloons and decorate the mountains for a few hours and the festival concludes with an evening Balloon Night Glow.
During the summer, residents and tourists can be found at the Snowmass Rodeo, which brings a variety of equestrian demonstrations and events to Snowmass. Watch cowboys and cowgirls ride through the arena showcasing their talents of bareback riding, team roping, barrel racing, and bull riding at the longest-running rodeo in Colorado. Enjoy barbeque dinners and browse the kid-friendly vendors before and after the rodeo events.
